Responsible investment expert, Scottish Widows

Shipra Gupta leads Responsible Investment at Scottish Widows, embedding environmental, social and governance considerations across investment integration, asset allocation and stewardship. Working across public and private markets, she helps shape investment strategy, propositions and mandates, oversees asset managers, and leads stewardship and policy engagement on systemic risks affecting long-term investment outcomes.

Shipra brings more than two decades of international experience across multiple sectors, including around 15 years in sustainable finance and six years at Scottish Widows. She is actively involved in investor collaboration, policy engagement and thought leadership on climate change, nature loss, human rights, inequality, responsible AI and shareholder rights. Shipra is also a Non-Executive Director of Soil Association Certification and a Trustee of The Conservation Volunteers and previously served on the Board of ShareAction.
